About Mount Abu –

Mount Abu is the only hill station of Rajasthan, state of India. It gives you a feel of blossoms in the summer, like a breath of fresh air. Today this place is a serious attraction for tourists who visit Rajasthan. Mount Abu has a distinct blend of the flavors of Rajasthan.

Location –

This hill station is located near the Sirohi district of Rajasthan. Highest point here is called as Guru Shikhar. The height of Guru Shikhar is 1722 meters above the sea level, which is pretty high. This place lies in the Aravalli Mountain Range.

Above image is of Toad Rock. You will find this rock near Nakki Lake in Mount Abu. This place worth your visit if you are planning a full Rajasthan Tour. It will be unfair to you if you do not explore a complete Rajasthan. Because there are many places to visit and many things to know about Rajasthan.

Personally, What I found interesting in Rajasthan is a Forts here. You will find that how amazing and interesting is the history of these forts are.

There are 5 major attractions of Mount Abu –

 

  1.   Wildlife Sanctuary – 

     Mount abuActually, this wildlife Sanctuary is the forest located in the Aravalli Mountain Range. This forest was declared as wildlife sanctuary in 1980.
    As I’m more of nature hound and I like to explore the natural beauty of every place I visit, this is just my kinda place. There are many rear species of animals you will find here. Some of them are Wild Boar, Jungle Cat, Sambhar, Pangolin, Hyena, Wolf, Indian fox, Jackal, and Hedgehog.

  2. Nakki Lake – Mount abuHindu Mythology says that this Lake was dug by gods by simply using their nails. Gods were trying to gain shelter from the Demon Bashkir. This is just one story of this lake. However, there are many mythological stories Behind this lake. Gandhi Ghat is a popular monument located here. Mahatma Gandhi’s ashes were immersed here which leads to the construction of Gandhi Ghat.
  3. Dilwara Jain Temples – mount abuI know this temple is looking beautiful in this image but trust me it is more beautiful in real. This temple is located at the short distance of 2.5 km from Mount Abu. This kind of temples was built in the 11th and 13th century. A quality marble is used to construct this temple, which makes this place a worth visiting.This temple complex is consist of 5 temples, which represent a unique Jain culture. There are different scenes created on the wall and pillars of the temple. These scenes represent the Hindu and Jain Mythology.
  4.  Guru Shikhar –

    Mount AbuGuru Shikhar is the highest point on the Mount Abu. This is a perfect place to take a look at all near-by places.There is a temple on the pick of the Hill station. This is the famous temple of Guru Dattatreya. Guru Dattatreya was an incarnation of the Hindu Deities Bramha, Vishnu, and Shiva in one.

  5. Achalgarh – Mount AbuAchalgrah fort was originally built by Paramara Dynasty rulers. But afterward, in 1472, Maharana Kumbha reconstructed this fort.  There are two towers on the main entrance of the fort. These towers are made up of grey Granite. The location of this fort is famous because of the Lord Shiva Temple here. This temple is known as Achaleshwar Mahadev Temple. Rajasthan is not a place for enjoying your holidays like you enjoy them on a beach. If you love art, history and old amazing constructions which have a great story behind them then this is just a place for you.

For Taste of Your Tongue –

There is a restaurant near Mount Abu called “Sher-E-Punjab Hotel”. If you want to experience a pocket free but amazingly tasty food then this place is just for you. There are many more places where you will get food. But “Sher-E-Punjab” is as famous as mount Abu here.
